Thanks to all that replied. I have spent the last 4 months in the Permian Basin and have seen the good, bad and ugly from the fracing side of the business. Talked to a few crude oil haulers that have been in the biz awhile and they are killing it. I believe it's important to have a plan B, C, D, if going out on my own. Step decks seem to make some bank. On the other hand, there's no way I'd haul frac sand. I've seen the stuff roll downhill and truckers waiting for hours just to unload. Sometimes it's the company man having a bad day and just wants the location cleared for awhile. Sometimes it's dispatch that has things all messed up. I know the lease roads aren't the best. Anyone that have driven through the Purple Gates near Mentone, knows what I'm talking about. Yes, I have the financial resources to sit out for several weeks while repairs are being made although I would find a way to mitigate that loss into something a bit more reasonable. Anyway, thanks again to those that replied.

Imo you need to be a crude oil hauler first. I tried to lease on no one would take me until I had a year or two being a company crude oil hauler. I had 6 months at the time. It's not hard work, but you need to be mistake free. Mistake free.
Lepton1 Thanks this.
