Have read a lot about these guys, and am considering leaving reefer and trying tanks. So I understand that they have forced dispatch, is this system wide as I'm looking at running out of Greensboro. Also thinking of buying one of their trucks, I know the economy sucks but I'm getting burned out running the Northeast and bumping docks.

Miller has been slow since June of last year. Some drivers are still doing ok out of certain terminals. They have had trucks deleasing left and right going elsewhere. If you're just starting out I wouldn't come here. There's alot of weeks you'll be lucky to gross 2500 before paying for fuel. Been here for 4 years and haven't seen it this bad and this slow for this long. Just being honest. I wouldn't recommend anybody coming here right now. A year ago I would have said go for it. But not now. I'm contemplating myself jumping ship

Probably the economy, it's hitting everywhere. I heard that you guys were having issues regarding the centralized dispatch.

Not so much centralized dispatch. Our central dispatch plays a very minor role. All our loads go on a board. Then your dispatcher is allowed to find you loads of that board for the next 8 days. The problem lies in some terminals have enough dispatchers that they can assign somebody to look at that board all day long and snag loads. Other terminals don't have that option so might only look once or twice a day. The contractors don't get to look at the board. It's a very complicated and complex system. Most contractors hate it. And dispatching out 8 days in my opinion is to far. Too much can happen in the tank world. For example your dispatched on 4 loads for the next 8 days. You show up to your first load and get loaded and go to customer. They can't hold it until the next day. You now lost the next 3 loads after that. And now all the loads for the next 8 days are booked so you're stuck waiting for an add on load that may or may not get called in. Also when you're home they aren't allowed to book you on a load out of your home terminal until within 48 hours of the load being picked up. But an outside terminal can take that load up to 8 days before it ships. See the problem? We had alot of contractors try to hold out for it to pick back up bit is just gotten slower. January and February there was a large exodus of contractors. Almost 1/3 of the contractors left. Between this dispatch and the lack of loads I wouldn't recommend coming over here. I used to average 4-5k a week gross without hardly trying. My year to date this year on average is 2600 a week gross. Now there is a few guys I know who are still making the 4-5k a week but they have a dispatcher who's really good and only a couple trucks put off that terminal so their dispatcher can give them alot of personal attention on finding loads
