There is almost always an out clause or procedure somewhere in the contract. You need to look at the contract to find out what it is. In my case I was on the hook for the entire amount of the schooling. The school and I agreed to $180 a month through automatic withdrawal. I made more my switching companies than the cost of the schooling and the new company was a better one as well. Look at the contract. If you don't understand what you are reading go to a lawyer.
As for too many trainees and not enough trainers, too many trainees have killed them off. Seriously, fewer and fewer experienced drivers want the headaches that come with becoming a trainer.
