There's always going to be those types out there for sure.

It just seems like anytime someone posts a thread like this one, there's at least a few that will say 'Dont do it' for whatever reason.

Thing is if it's so terrible, why would anyone continue to do it?

Oxbow, D.Tibbitt and Opus Thank this.

In this market yes. Thet are either running that $1.5/mile freight or filing bankruptcy .

Well, then I guess it will be a buyers market for trucks and equipment.
If they're running for a loss on a daily basis, they deserve to be bankrupt

    Oxbow Thanks this.

That one is hard to quantify, I THINK speaking from personal experience, if I could just buckle down and be a company driver, I may technically make more, BUT, I also wouldnt have the tools, the experience in wrenching, the independence, the ability to tell a load to f off.

Im also, if not building equity in a buisness asset, at least building equity in several thousand lbs of steel and aluminum scrap.

    Oxbow and rbrtwbstr Thank this.

Depends. Whats your plan? If you’re straight up working off the load boards, then it might be bleak. We have owner operators working for our company that are staying very busy at 75%. I’ve talked to a few the last two weeks that are very happy. They aren’t on lease plans but are owner operators bringing their own new or old rig to the table.
