I loved mine. They been makin' them for a lot of years, but resale is a little low.
-
I've always like Farmall conventionals... but they can be a little heavy.
-
If i were driving a truck it would be a 9900IX, love the long hood, easy to work on just about anything any where on the truck, the locals that own one say they love the truck, have a lot of oakley owner/operaters the drive one and have no problems with the truck.
-
The boss man has a bunch of them....they are heavy, the cab/sleeper are pretty big, and they ride pretty rough, if you buy used they don't seem to hold their value to good so you can find pretty good deals out there if you shop around..
I did a few months in one the ride alone turned me off but overall they are a pretty solid truck...our mechanics don't complain about working on them like they do our Petes if it means anything....shop around the market is flooded with trucks and good luck !! -
groundpounder, why do the mechanics complain on working on petes, they have the same big hood, easy to get to the motor, i don't understand, also mechanics whats your take on working on petes, thanks
-
I honestly don't know they are just always complaining about the Petes for some reason....Its not so much the motor just other parts of the truck is my guess..biker dave Thanks this.

well having worked on trucks for the last 10 years, and at a pete from 2006-2009, the 379 pete for sure is the easiest truck in my opinion to work on overall. the 387 petes are a pain in the butt. the international 9900, kw w900, frt classic all are easy to work on underhood, but driveline wise, each has its own quirks to do major work on the underside. just my .02, I had no problems working on the petes overall, front to back, top to bottom, except for the 387bubblenose and thats a whole other discussion!

I got a 07 9900I and its a good truck. It dose have a few problems but over all I would recomend it.
Ive had three problems. One is the HVAC system. The controles on the dash went bad under warintee. Good now. The little doors that change air flow came unhooked but also seem ok now. Also had a bad plug on the front blower motor.
Problem 2 was the rivets that hold the side box door to the hinge all broke and the door fell off. Put it back on with about 20 self tapping screws. Good for now.
Problem 3 it the biggest. I have the one piece windsheildand cant stop it from leaking. The first time the dealer resealed it. A month later it cracked. Had a glass company come put in a new one. 6 months later it leaked. Third try it leaks again. I love the big windsheild but its so big its very hard to get the glue right when installing it. Its still leaking now. They cost 750$ + -
I drove a daycab 9900i for a guy for a tad over 5 years. By far the worst riding truck I've ever driven, dash was always falling apart, climate control sucked and not much for leg room.
