There were a bunch of Prostars built with those Cats right at the end of Cat supplying the trucking market with engines. There were lots of these Prostars with "test" engines for production, or pre-production trucks. They are extremely rare and finding parts for them specific for Internationals may be hard. Get the engine serial number and call Cat, or ask Mr Haney here to see if the engine itself is a test prototype because there was some of those as well in those Prostars.

The 08-09 engines are the worst , doesn't really matter which manufacturer ......

search around here and you will find many threads on the dreaded cat dpf engines.

Are these trucks red? Reason I ask is that Groendyke had a bunch of these and they didn't have them long, I believe they did not have a good time with them.

I think $50K is a premium price too. Like Cat sdp said, that vintage isn't the most reliable mainly for emissions stuff.

1.price is to high for a prostar with c 13,a good price is max 40 k depend on miles. 2.the 08-09 cat c 13 is a lee enginemodell with DPF,plenty of troubles, you can delete the DPF talk with Mr.Haney he is the best guy for Catengines

I bought a 09 with Cummins...AND I LOVE THE DARN THING! ...BUT fortunately I am double warrantied. The dealer where I bought it has gone above and beyond to make me happy,I've had a couple months and they have replaced..starter,all batteries, egr valve twice, injector, complete a/c with condenser, new steering wheel controls,ECM,power steering gaskets (kit) fuel sending gaskets, alternator, and things I can't think of now...and check engine light is till coming on,so gotta gt back in this week...but i do love this truck, roomy, rides like a Cadillac . Was a Crete truck,so they had to fix whatever was wrong with it. I wouldn't of bought it if it had the cat. It only had 370,00 on odometer. When loaded heavy,it doesn't pull as well as I'd like it too,but hey can't everything I guess.
Make sure you buy it from the dealer, int truck of Houston are great!!! They have a few left...:)
