Can't your children use your VA school benefits?

Now look what you've done, got Chinatown all revved up. He has a habit of going overboard, and all the references are truly credible, or he wouldn't post them, but to back up a bit, a few things about trucking you may not be used to. 1st, as a 9-5'er, you may not be ready for a schedule trucking offers. It's anything BUT 9-5. 2nd, coming from the military, you may not be used to the regiment of trucking, it may almost shock you, the lack of interaction and attention to detail. There is local, home daily, regional, an over night, and full blown over the road, and that becomes your home. Health concerns, eating, sleeping, home life, if any, all take it's toll, and a startling statistic, half of all new drivers don't make it 6 months, and another 1/4 don't make it a year. You can expect better pay than what you make, but there's a price for that. I'd expect at least $75K/year, but may take a while to get that. It's a good job, but quite frankly, people that "try" trucking, generally don't make it. Good luck, keep us posted, eh?
