I call that monkey math
If you keep hauling it the. You will keep doing favors
If no one hauled it then the rate to California would go up and now you’d be at $3 both ways
I never run for fuel
I once had an agent tell me that he would try and get me fuel money to DH 500 miles to a good load
I told him I’ll pay for his fuel to get to his job if he works the day for free
He goes, no one has ever explained it to me like that and he got the point and now makes sure my DH miles are factored at my minimum per mile requirements
I’d DH to Chicago before I’d ever waste one minutes running a load just for fuel
Thinking of coming over to LS from Schneider.

Depends mostly on what you got to go in
$3 in $1 out is $2 round trip.
Dude #1 hauls $1 freight to LA and gets $375.
Dude #2 who won't haul no cheap freight, dead heads to LA and gets nothing.
Which dude do you want to be?48Packard Thanks this. -
I get it if you want to stay close to home but I deadhead from where I live almost all the time and usually it’s 6-800 miles but I’m not loading $3 freight either. It’s much higher and it usually gives me around $3 ttt for all miles so my DH miles are paid at that $3 pm and I’m empty
