I'm neither and I'm not posting my truck # on a public site like an idiot.

I finished Sep with 13688 miles for the month and have not been below 12000 for the past 6, with 3 of the 6 over 13000.

I manage my time well, work hard and don't sit around whining. If I'm having a low mile week, I'm talking to someone who can do something about it early enough in the week for them to do something about it. So, if you're not getting miles, maybe you're not managing your career well enough.

As for the Truckload President (not the CEO. The Con-way CEO is Doug Stotlar and he didn't leave in June. Joe Dagnese was the President.) leaving in Jun, he went over to take over Con-way Freight thinking he was getting a promotion.

The XPO CEO said in the analyst call that he's personally going to be running Con-way Freight until they can find a new leader. So, Dagnese probably wishes he had stayed at Truckload because he's about to be out of a job.

Additionally when the XPO team visited Joplin, Jacobs, the XPO CEO, said they weren't going to mess with Truckload much for the first year.

Let's face it, XPO wanted Menlo and Con-way Freight and that's where their focus is going to be until they get them fully integrated.

So far, this acquisition has had little, if any, impact on Truckload freight.

If you're not getting miles maybe you need a new fleet manager and/or a new personal management philosophy.

Actually, I'll buy your statement of your reported general salary amounts. After all, it's always nice to hear from the minorities.

But as for your second paragraph as to hanging out at truck stops or just griping (and I assume, not working), then I would like to remind any readers that Conway has a no load refusal policy, and you're either on the board or off. If you're onboard, you WILL work when you are told. If not onboard, unless you're on hometime, you better get boarded real quick unless you have a valid excuse.

Basically, "hanging out in truckstops", or anywhere else is not an option for CWTL drivers. You work or don't work when they tell ya', regardless of however many fleet managers that you care to schmooze, persuade, complain, manipulate, enlighten, or just plain grovel to in order to improve your situation.

And enough of the overly hashed out and tired old repetitious, pseudo-macho baloney that "attitude is everything" and that the driver is basically responsible for his success (or failures).
In regards to being employed as a driver with CWTL, it's the Company (and to some extent, the government) that is holding the wheel of your nearly every action; not the driver.

And they'll steer ya' right into the poorhouse.

It's true that Con-way is forced dispatch. However, if you're sharp enough to learn "the system", become familiar with the freight lanes, act and look professionally when dealing with customers, you can have a huge impact on your miles.

Bottom line, I'm not going to argue with you. I know what my experience with Con-way has been and continues to be.

But, when someone starts talking about things that they have no idea about, like the XPO acquisition impacting freight for 2 months, when there was probably no one outside of the board of directors of the two publicly traded companies who knew anything about it until it was announced last month, I have to call BS on that.

    Actually it is BS!

First of all the statement that "the CEO of Con-way left abruptly in June", is inaccurate.

The person who left was the President of Con-way Truckload, Joe Dagnese, not the "CEO of Con-way", who is Doug Stotlar.

And BTW, Dagnese went over to become President of Con-way Freight; still a part of Con-way and hardly an " abrupt departure." He was offered a promotion and took it.

Secondly, when a $3B acquisition of a public company by a public company occurs, its VERY RARE, that ANYONE other than the members of the boards of directors of the two companies know anything is going on until the deal is done and announced. So, there's no way that this deal could have been impacting freight for 2 months when the deal was only announced in September.

Depends on what's going on. I go home when I want or need to, or if I need to highlight for home, or somewhere else, to get out of or into a particular area; no regular schedule.

    I was wrong!

I missed 12000 miles by 34 miles one month in the past 6.

If you've driven for Con-way Truckload and are familiar with the Driver Dashboard, this will be familiar to you.
