Lol, no, I’m sure not 450 lbs. I’m about 6’-3” and 248 lbs. My hands are so rough it pulls the material on my wife’s sweater when I rub her back.

Speaking of Oldskool, remember when most all the drivers would give a respectable wave, or maybe just lift a finger from the steering wheel or gear stick as they pass another truck? I still do.

Most anymore are tapping the screen of something as they drive, and they are easy to spot. They are the ones you see swerving across the lines as you approach them.

Pulling a O/S load yesterday, I hug the white line since I was over 11’ wide. Straight box truck passes me on a grade and I thought he was taking my mirror off! It has changed out here for sure….

And the generation before you said the very same things about you, yet everything seems to have worked out without the world grinding to a halt. The previous generation always sees itself as better, smarter, tougher, wiser. Just older and used to different ways.

It takes no effort to be cordial, courteous and respectful when being cordial, courteous and respectful has been your default setting before you learned to speak. But today, that “triggers” people. If I open a door to walk through it and I notice you walking up, I will hold the door, and motion for you to walk through. Nothing meant by it. I do not think less of you as a person, and I wasn’t trying to demean you, I want nothing from you, not even your attention. It’s a default setting.

I have learned that if a woman is twice my size, punishes the earth when she walks (stomps the ground, pavement, etc), angry looking, wearing any kind of trucking company swag, has resting bewitch face, or anything about her demeanor that suggests that she is an unhappy/unpleasant individual…do not be cordial, courteous or respectful because this is offensive. Gotcha. I admit that I am a little slow, but eventually I do catch on.

If I am rolling up the highway and see you rolling up at a decent pace, I will do what I can not to impede your flow. No big deal, you passed me. I am not butthurt. “Have a good day and a better tomorrow, hand.”

“Oh dear, here comes an oversized load. He’s moving at a good clip. I am only a quarter mile away from this truck ahead of me that I’ve been trying to catch for the last 15 minutes…should I go ahead and jump out in front of the oversized? Yes, I should! Those oversized think they own the road, I will show that A Hole oversized who’s the boss! Bet he’s one of those idiots with a tall shifter and his seat on the floor! I hate him! Hope he loses control and ends up in a ditch! That would be great! Hate him like I hate tankers.”

And the pocket blowout. You know that feeling when your quarters start running down your pant leg? “Daggum, how many quarters did I lose?”

Ummm, no it doesn't.....I think you either just have really bad random luck or you are overthinking things way too much that your head starts playing tricks on you to make you believe that people are being "triggered" when they're not.

I've only ever gotten thank you's for holding the door open for people or at the very worst, no aknowledgement at all but certainly nothing hostile or "triggering" (and even no aknowledgements are rare, more often than that I at least get a head nod if I don't get a thank you).

Are you sure you’re not triggered this time?

Question: In 2020, when it seemed as if everyone was making a mad dash to buy up every bit of toilet paper during the lockdown, did you personally know of anyone who stocked up a huge supply of TP? And if so, could you ask them what brought that idea on, if they remember? Thanks in advance.
