Currently on hold with the DMV to clear up all questions I have.

@homeskillet not sure why I need a road test with a bud if I have a class A, but going to clear that up as well.

I had a Class A when I went to work for the transit authority, and still had to take a road test to get a passenger endorsement.

Anyway, best of luck, whatever happens.

Many here are correct, need a road test with a bus to get passenger endorsement, yet can’t find anyone with a bus to do the road test.

    my luck.

It’s easier to get Hazmat then it is to get passenger.

Yes , hazmat is easy peasy
But honestly I would not get either until you find a job that needs one or the other
If you find a company that wants to hire you to driver a bus,,they will have a bus for you to test in

And any job that needs hazmat will usually pay the fee for you to get it

No endorsement I am aware of requires a new medical exam or even at least so many months remaining on your current DOT physical. They just require a current DOT physical exam.

The passenger endorsement will require a new road test in a passenger carrying vehicle.

I got all of those endorsments when I got my CDL, I didn't expect to use them all at the same time. IMO, every newbie should get every endorsement (doubles/triples, tanker, HazMat). Avoiding endorsements would be like telling your kid to study only Math or English, but not both unless he expected to be both an engineer and lawyer. The endorsements are cheap and easy, and if you get them all at once you never have to take a day off work to go pick up an endorsement later on. Obviously the HazMat is now at least a 2 day, more expensive exception to the above. All of the endorsements, but HM, last indefinitely.

You need a road test in a passenger carrying vehicle. Your tractor that was used for your CDL-A was not a passenger carrying vehicle and did not represent that class of vehicles.

HM didn't have the BS when i first got it. Yep. Get em all. Opens the doors.

I wouldn't call HM cheap and easy these days. I'd still have it if it weren't for the BS. But since it's only been used for one load. 30 lbs. No sense in keeping it.
