Trucking is a lot of fun. It's the attitude you have going in and it's about the work you put in. Don't listen to the horror stories because that'll set in your mind and then you will look for all the bad things about trucking. When bad things happen then it will become a self fulfilling prophecy. Also, take a lot of opinions with a grain of salt. It makes no difference how you get your CDL whether it's company sponsored or through a school. You have to get your experience one way or the other. Many drivers on here try to tell you what companies are good or bad without having worked there. Keep your mind wide open, and just learn as much as possible

Why didn't you or don't you look into those trades? After all, your advice is to screw trucking

If your mind is set on this, look into a specialized line of trucking, Tanker, Car hauling, Flatbed.

Flatbed is good steady money. I would look towards reefer too. I only say that because that's what I like the best out of all that over hauled

That's pretty cool man, I knew a couple of carpenters while working in a physical therapy clinic. There knees, shoulders, back, hands and neck are all jacked up from the years of work lol but they were the hardest working people I knew.
