Hello to you all . I'm currently mulling over what to do . I have had my CDL since 2002 . I have a Class A license with all the endoresments except Hazmat and Passanger . I only have T/T expirence fronm what was taught to me in Driving School . I worked at a local Lowes store and have only driven their straight truck it was an 8 speed . I guess what i'm wanting to know is do i have to attend school all over again or just pick a company and ask what i need to do ? I am really at a tough spot like most people are these days and i know its crazy but now want to put my CDL to use other than being in my wallet . I would appreciate ant help i could get . Thanks !!

Talk with the company. They have the answers you need.

I would say you need a refresher program but I think most companies are going to tell you that you need to take the hole course again.

Without any OTR experience the Mega-Companies will want you to go to school again. I'm not sure anyone will hire you without any OTR experience following training.

You might try some smaller companies or small fleet owners. Most seasoned drivers would agree a CDL is a license to learn. Oilfield driving jobs, while more work, can often be easier to get.
