Thanks truckinbiker. I keep looking for negative reports from TMC and I just cant find any that are worth mentioning. If anyone has any negatives, I'd really appreciate it. I'd really hate to get some nasty surprises once I get to Des Moines. Certainly there is SOMEthing that is ugly about them, no company is perfect. Otherwise, EVERYone would be flocking to TMC.

There isn't anything specifically wrong with TMC that I have found. The general complaints of the hard work of tarping and so on are the only ones I have found.

You do have to accept the fact that YOU are not the only driver at TMC. There are over 2800 trucks in the fleet. You will not always get the BEST load, you should not always get the worst load either. Some days you will have a load preplanned and will be ready to roll to your next load the minute you get empty, and some days freight will be scarce where you are and you will sit for a few hours before they match you up with a load. Don't play the hindsight game and see what could have been if only. . . It will drive you crazy. Like this week I delivered in Columbia MO on Thursday. As I was getting empty I learned my next load was out of Kansas City to Allentown PA for monday, 1100 loaded miles and a 120 mile bounce. As I was leaving another TMC driver came in to pick up a load at that facility I delivered to, his destination was Kansas city. I could have delivered that load and made an extra hundred bucks for the week, and still made Allentown PA loading Friday for Monday, but freight was tight out there that day, and if I had taken that load my fellow TMC driver would have had no load for the day. Matching freight with drivers is like putting together a puzzle where all the pieces do not fit together properly, every once in a while you need a ten pound hammer to make them fit.:biggrin_25519:

Yes line haul drivers should drop a load every day. It is not difficult to do since your runs are about 600 miles.

Hello im new to this board and i'm looking into flatbedding. I start my CDL school in oct at a local college. I called maverick today and they said they have a waiting list 3-4 months long for applicants. Does anyone know if TMC is the same way? Also i read somewhere that TMC has a Heavy Haul division. Is this Oversized loads or Glass? thanks for all the info

Mav's waiting list is for the school. (3-4 months) If you have a CDL it is not as long. Usually 30 days tops. Depends on where you live. I applied on a friday and they told me to show up the following sunday.

It might be because you are in GA. I think most of them are the covered wagons on the southeast reg.

No you will know a covered wagon when you see one. Looks like a covered wagon from the old west. mav has mile, tarp and bonus pay, no %
