R U working for Maverick now? or R U going to start working with them soon? I have read some of "NoTarps" posts but would like to hear from someone else. I applied to TMC & Cypress yesterday. TMC drives Petes w/ 13sp, Cypress guarantees 48hrs home evry weekend. I have considered Maverick but have not applied yet, not sure why. I have seen several Maverick trucks around Ringgold GA lately. One was on hwy 2 in Ringgold yesterday and several passing thru on 75south headed towards Atlanta. Pretty sure they run automatics, not sure what make truck. Keep me posted if you will, like to know what you think about them as you go.

Or any other flatbeds run teams?
-
I'm not on with them yet, am on the waiting list. I was approved 2 weeks ago. They call in people based on place on list and location. I'm high on list, but NC hasn't come around yet.
My problem is that I've been out of a truck long enough that most companies won't take me on without school again, or at least a refresher. Mav was one of about 3 that I found that would take me on without either.I based my choice on that, on what Notarps and a couple of other Mav drivers have posted on here and another forum, and talking to 3 different drivers I saw at local truck stops over the past couple of months. So now I'm eagerly awaiting a phone call
Maverick runs Freightliners, auto tranny. Not as flashy as TMC, but they still keep them real nice.
I do know that Maverick does not run teams.
I'll keep in touch, when I get on. -
A ps: One additional reason I chose Maverick, their training pay is the highest that I found. That will help my transition.
Their home time is to try and get drivers in line haul home at least 90% of weekends (46 out of 52), if not more. Long haul and Specialized stay out 2-3 weeks.
Hope this helps. -
well im through my second week of school and two to go. I am going to go with TMC. I will be going to the Iowa Terminal for training. What all do I need to take with me. This is my list so far so please let me know what I missed
Clothes
boots
gloves
Sleeping bag
small pillow
toiletries
cd's
Thanks -
hey morris, have you thought about Boyd Brothers? I run for them now. Ran for TMC last year. Cant speak highly of them in a lot of aspects. Got a couple of friends runnin for maverick and they seem to happy with them. I run for and cant be happier. Im home every weekend. They say minimum 24-34 hrs a weekend but I average around 36-40. Good luck on your search and let us know how it goes.
