You posted you once lived in Nashville; I'm from that area, born & raised there.
Now live in Las Vegas area.
One time, somewhere out West, I met a trucker and the inside of his tractor was lit up like a Christmas tree.
He told me he was once an airline pilot and all those lights are radio monitors so he can listen to pilots and air traffic. Said he can't communicate with them, but enjoys listening and reminiscing about the past job.

I'm a trucker and this forum is my hobby. I don't have to work anymore unless I want to. Split my time between Las Vegas/Henderson, Nevada and Mainland China where my other home is. My wife is Chinese.

I've lived in Pensacola and Buelah just west of Pensacola. Are you from that area? I haven't been there in years.

Well, 1st of all, I'm simply flabbergasted a pilot, in charge of lives, makes a paltry $30g's a year? I think Walmart cashiers make that. Seems like you have 2 choices, go to a school, get the CDL, then look, or go to a company that might reimburse you for that, but they own you for like a year. Personally, I'd stay in aviation, trucking today is an "all or nothing" deal. You'll clearly make more money, but with that comes a host of challenges, you might be gone for 3 weeks. Just remember, these alleged incomes they show vary greatly, and many times, they post what their top driver made, a far cry from what you might make. I'd think a mechanic would be the best job, but up to you. Good luck.

A while back, a female regional pilot that posted on here, was making $17G a year. Now she's a trucker.

I don't think I've ever heard of someone asking Chinatown their credentials, you must be new. He is our resident job finder/psychiatrist, and has helped many. Truth be known, and I'm not blowing sunshine( you know the rest) I'd have to say, he's TTR's greatest asset. My biggest problem with him, is he wasn't around 20 years ago when I made foolish mistakes.

Maybe that’s where the saying “ until I get my wings “ comes from
The lower pay until you get to a higher level of experience and schooling?

Been here since 2012 but almost never on the forum
But you are correct. What I’ve seen with his posts seem to be spot on advice comments
