Hello im new to the trucking world, Well Kind of! I have my ClassA with Tankers, I received it two years ago and drove for 6 month for the RoadDept, 500 600 Miles a week! Truck was a 2001 Mack DayCab CH #-- the #I can't think of! With a 53 foot Walking Floor Trailer! Im going to the DDA in little rock for a 40hr Refreshers course the 15th-t24 of this month!
I do have a Pre Hire with prime, But I've been looking at MAV for awhile now. I don't know if I can do flatbed as im not a big ole guy! im just 23years old 5,9 110 pounds YES I KNOW I NEED TO EAT MORE! However I can lift my 110 pounds with no prob! I've never had a ticket a crash, I'm not a job jumper. I've been on the firedept for 6 years now. What is the paper work and test about when your first get to mav in the Rock.
    Thanks

Ps 3 weeks ago there was afew Mav Flatbeds in town 'MOUNTAIN VIEW' at huge jobsite building houses! GOOD LOOKING RIGS, I wanted to stop n ask a few ?s but I did not wanna be in the way!

I think you will like Mav better than Prime. But Im biased lol since Ive never driven for Prime. All kidding aside both are good companies but with Prime you will be away from home longer but here at Mav you will be home most weekends running flats unless you request to stay out longer.

I tried Maverick years ago. If I was cut out to do flatbed, I'd still be there. I thought it was a good company. You will probably get through the house more often at Maverick. They have a good flatbed training program.

Being away I guess is not so bad, As I have no wife kids girlfriend. Do you think Mav would care if I just came by to talk to them wile im at the DDA. Maybe get a look at how they do things.

Call a recruiter and ask. They would need to clear you thru the gate.

Like Dan said, and do not be afraid to talk to the guys, most are very approachable...only the Blue Kenworth's are grumpy....lol

Go for it. Doing flatbeds will bulk you up a bit too.
If no reason to get home every weekend, ask to be in the LNG (Longhaul) Division. Typically out 3 weeks at a time or so I believe.
