Mine rode with me and it worked out just fine. I didn't realize what a poor driver I was until she rode along and corrected me!
She enjoyed the travel, but was shocked at the poverty she saw across America and said the people back home in China wouldn't believe it because they're taught in school that everyone in America has a beautiful home, nice BMW's, money in the bank and there's no poverty or poor people. When we visit China everyone tells her how lucky she is that the USA government pays for all expenses for a child from the time they're born until they finish college.
Wow, no wonder the big rush from all over the globe to immigrate to USA.
Now, back to the OP's question.

Look at Holland Enterprises; their trucks have Tri-Pac APU's and a rider policy that starts on day one. Good benefits package also.

I would love to have a good woman along. To help me strap and tarp and help with paperwork, and 'on the fly' trip planning. We could be a team, but not team drivers.

    Do it.

Re-learn each other and learn technology on the process. There's lots of ways to handle bills, mail and so on.
    Wish both luck.

My husband and I are together about 24/7 most of the time in the truck. I pay all the bills on line. I have a mini office in the truck . As for fights , we dont usually have them, but I will say when you get to a lay over , do a girl time shop or nails and relax without the hubby.

Great question! I say go for it. I know you are talking about riding with him, but my husband and I team drove together. If you get along well, you will really enjoy it. Plus, you get to be his co-pilot. It is always nice when you are getting close to a shipper or receiver that you haven't been to before to have that extra set of eyes helping you out. As mentioned before, you can get a hot spot on your cell phone or you can buy an air card for your laptop. We had an air card through Verizon that ran about $60 a month. It may be more now. You can have internet as you are running down the road as long as you have a signal. We paid all of our bills online and it worked fine. As far as your vehicle, we parked it at a friends house but you could just as easily park at the companies terminal.

Bathroom stops. There are ways. Just make sure you dispose of it properly and not by throwing bottles or cups out of the window like some of the jackwipes do. :) Also, you can get a 5 gallon bucket, put a plastic toilet lid on it, and get what is called "Doodie Bags" (don't laugh, look them up. LOL A lot of people use them when camping and they work just the same in a truck.) This is an excellent alternative to having to stop all of the time while in a time crunch.

We sold our house and put everything in storage. Best decision we ever made. We were spending roughly $1800 a month on mortgage, electric, gas and water. Being in the truck together allowed us to get rid of these payments and save. As an added benefit, we were able to see the whole country together. Of course it was work and not a vacation, but we were able to take time off where we wanted, get a hotel for a night and go see some sights.

All in all it was a wonderful experience for us, since we love each other, but more importantly, are best friends. We very rarely argue. So if that sounds like you guys, then it is definitely worth going out on the road with him. Who knows, you may find you love it and you may get your CDL and end up team driving with him! :)

thank you for all the advice it helped a great deal, so much so that in a few weeks I will be riding along in the truck for a while , I am actually looking forward to it , and I am looking into air cards in case the tethering doesn't work, all of our things will be going into storage. I would love to get my CDL and team drive but unfortunately I wouldn't pass the physical I have high blood pressure among a few other things so that leaves me out. I did find out that my crock pot is too big for the truck so I am looking into the nuwave induction cooktop it is small and could fit in a large pocketbook so if anyone has heard of it and used it can you let me know what your thoughts are on it .

Do you mean that your crock pot is literally too big? Or that it will pull too much power? I don't know what size you have, but look into getting a smaller one maybe? They are a great way to cook on the road. Also, a small George Forman works great when you are parked. Does he have the capability of a microwave in his truck? I know some do and some don't. It depends on how large of an inverter they allow in the truck. Koolatron also makes a 12v cooler that gets really cold. I don't know what he has in there now, but it beats the heck out of an ice chest and having to empty the water and buy ice all of the time. Also, they make "Lunchbox Ovens". Check into those. I cooked in those a lot. It is like a slow cooker, but looks like a lunchbox. You can cook pretty much anything in there and it holds enough to make a meal for two. I don't know anything about the induction cooktop, but have seen them. Seems like a great idea for a truck though.
