That shippers choice lot is tiiiiny though. But it does have the benefit of being a fence away from the dmv test site. So you get to see people attempting the dmv test all day every day.
The day I was there for the dmv test I saw two accidents in the shippers choice training lot. Can't imagine that it was a thing either, with that little room to maneuver it's a wonder their training trucks have any fairings at all

China is right. Went to swift and decided to go the other way. I have other invi from the othet company but I choose Abilene. You can apply for tuition reimbursement or pay it urself. Either way but don't setle for less. Go get ur cdl and extend ur research. Magnum, freymiller , Abillene , Maverick , Navajo are just few of the company who accepted me but choose Abilene.

I'm currently in my mentor stage now and I am happy here in Abilene. Very impressed. If you have any question feel free to mesg me! Goodluck!

I started at swift with the intentions of after a year exp otr id buy my own truck (what ever i could afford) and go to landstar.
At swift i did company..dedicated water in fl....mentored(on the job training)....even leased one of their trucks (with intentions of giving it back)....built up my money and in 14 months. I put 11k down on a truck and been aylt landstar ever since..
Trucking 2 n half years. Oh and my truck has 3 payments left.
Swift paid me .25 to start.. But i knew where i wanted to be and swift got me there.
You dont have to stay with swift for the 2 years... 75 a week is not much to pay them back(if you left)

Chester is good, I've heard identical issues about Newport News and Manassas. The bad I've read about the others we not getting enough road time, we about 3-4 to a truck and on the road the first week. We started everyday including day 1 with pre-trips, then the next couple hours in the classroom, then the remainder of the day on the range and on the road. They'd break us into groups and work on what we needed. The people who had the basics down quick spent a lot more time on the road where people with maneuvering issues spend a lot more time on that. Instructors were awesome and we had a lot of fun. That may have changed since it's been a while, not sure. I could never get any answers out of JTCC when I look into them, they want you to come to them so they give you the used car salesmen pitch which I knew meant overpriced, CDS was too much of a drive. But definitely do some research.,
