Well after long research I think I an going with PRIME for company sponsored cdl training just have a few questions and calling a recruiter tomorrow. Well first off I was wondering if they pay for transportation to the school and lodging or is that a expense for me. I was also wondering if they are going to deduct the cost of the school from my paycheck such as Swift wanted to when I was looking into them. I also was wondering about the 200 a week loan while in training that I know I will have to pay back but when does that start. the only other question I had was what I can expect to make as a company driver fresh from their training. I will not lease from them since I am new the way I look at it is does a new worker any any field really want to start their own business when they are new to the field no that is why I will not lease yet but will that affect me cause I only want to be a company driver. The only other question I have is does PRIME have apu or not and if not do they care about night idle to sleep decently.

The $200 loan: "Once you get hired, we will deduct $25 a week until what you borrowed is paid back."

Yup, transportation is provided via the grey dog. However, if you decide to go upscale, you can buy an airplane ticket to Springfield (they have regional airline service,) and Prime will reimburse you the cost of the bus ticket. Once you get to Springfield, a call to the Campus Inn will get the company shuttle to come pick you up.

No deductions for tuition are made from your settlements. If you leave before the specified term in the contract, they bill you for a lump sum of what you owe.

What MsJamie said. They'll also do that for any other costs you incurr such as the TWIC card fee, CPAP testing/machine, or any other expenses you incurr.

That will depend on your miles, and the choices you make regarding which division you're working in. I won't hazard a guess - its been some time since I was familiar with that.

As previously mentioned, Prime equips all of their tractors with an APU. That takes care of a/c and power. There is also a bunk heater to keep you warm.

the $200 will be loaded on your Comdata card each week on Friday. (once you get your card, which is after you get accepted and are assigned/waiting for an instructor) If you take it, you pay it back $25 a week. If you don't you don't.

Don't even sweat having to be an indentured servant for a year after your training. I had a few PSD's that got their license and then took off. Many didn't make it a year before they found local jobs. Heck I had one guy that left twice for local jobs, and then came back all the same year......
