Spotty along parts of 80 in Pa, I run northeast with very few dead zones. The binge on makes it VERY nice.

I have Tmob as well... and it's not just my phones. We've had Tmob for years and I've gone thru 7 maybe 8 phones with them, so it's the service areas. Tmob doesn't own it's network towers, in a lot of places they piggy-back off of AT&T. So I get AT&T (emergency srvc only) in most of the following areas:

    - NW Pa is spotty (From about Altoona area until I get over to Ohio) but Pittsburgh and other bigger cities are fine)
    - WVa (and I pretty much mean all of it) and about 40 miles or so into KY is dead for me (64W)
    - Remote areas of SC can be spotty
    - 64W in VA (From Richmond to the 81 split) in kinda spotty (Shenendoah valley area)
    - Ocean side of MD (13N between Salisbury and Dover De) there are a couple of spots

Other than those areas I get both 4g/LTE data and phone service no problem.

a good bargain isn't so good if you cannot connect. Verizon & ATT have largest network. Use them if you are OTR or one of the Companies like Cricket or StraightTalk that use their network.

    ^^^ THIS ^^^

T-Mobile coverage is non-existent in wide swaths of the country. Look at the coverage map. If you are over the road plan on being days out of communication if you spend time in Wyoming or west Texas for example.

You get what you pay for. Verizon or AT&T are best for OTR. I use Verizon and often go to places that don't have any roads recognized by the Rand McNally GPS, as in a blank page, miles from nowhere. It's rare to lose coverage, and when I do I can almost always send and receive text messages

Verizon is the best. Though it used to be perfect years ago, they recently made a change since my signal gets weak in areas where it never had a problem. Six years ago the only time Verizon cut out was when I was in the mountains in Idaho or Montana.

I know a driver that did regional out of Reno. He used Verizon for his main phone with a data plan. He had a backup voice only plan phone with AT&T. He said one or the other would always work.

Yeah I know a few people that have that setup since ATT offered a cheaper data plan. I use Verizon rollover data with 20GB. The rollover really helps a lot. People make a huge deal put of 20GB data but heck that is nothing while on the road and I barely stream videos anymore.
