So you were in a restricted lane, because...

Oh, I know, you wanted to save a few seconds.

I hope you get some points.

friend is a deputy in Summit Co., Colo., right after the new year he stopped a Cali. trooper and family on their way back to Cali. after spending two weeks in Co. Got him for 87 in a 65, trooper tried to badge him in hopes of catching a break, nope, wrote him for the full 22 over as well for a defective brake light. Also, since it was a wildlife zone, the fine is doubled. Should be about a $700 ticket to the trooper, I'm sure the 22 mph over won't sit well with his bosses either.

I guess he's so used to cars being invisible while trucks are scared to go over 60, he didnt realize that he was in an equal opportunity state.

Why is it bull that big rigs are not allowed in the fast lane?

I see it so often. A rig in the left lane tailgating with barely a cars length distance. And when the car moves over the rig is still going the same speed.
Or a rig going .5 MPH faster than who it is trying to pass, and blocking a dozen cars for miles.

Of course, these things are only done by drivers that think they own the road.
I'm sure you are not one.

The point is, a lane restriction on trucks is meant to keep the general traffic moving safely and reasonably well.
If a trucker ignores those restrictions, the trucker deserves the ticket.

Then how is it safer to have through trucks stuck in the right two lanes battling merging traffic. Ever been through El Paso, TX where half the drivers are from Juarez who don't know how to merge?

Our mayor swore that prohibiting trucks from the left lane would ease congestion. Still waiting for that to happen.
