This again is why so many DC’s make you unhook from the trailer when you’re at the dock

A $5 solution to a million dollar problem. This ain't rocket science, folks.

 

Slap up some drywall and build a driver's break room. Require drivers to wait there. The expense is far less than the incoming wrongful death suit.

 

Now Walmart DC's make you take pictures of your chocked tires and disconnected tractor and bring them to the CRO for them to check out before unloading.

 

Did he pull out before they gave him his BOL?

If so, why? If not, why was the forklift in the box?

 

Winco foods doesn’t give you the BOL until all unloading has occurred. Someone clearly dropped the ball here.

The majority of warehouse workers work for the lumper service, not the company who has the DC. If I recall Winco used Capstone at the ones I’ve been to, but I could be remembering incorrectly, it’s been a few years.
