That's what I imagined because obviously I don't know the ropes or anything but being on the road for that long seems to fit me very well. I'm naturally a person who likes their alone time and driving has always been fantastic for me. Seems like a great way to travel around, see the sights, while also saving up on money.

I'm not sure about long term because of family reasons but short term I'd love it.

I would never do this job if I had family obligations. Difficult at best, destructive at worst.
Even a local job, you have long hours and little quality time at home.

If you live in the trick full time, you can save a lot of money by getting rid of your house and private vehicle. Great way to get out of debt, or sock it away for the future. As for sight-seeing, you'll be seeing shippers' and receivers' locations, interstate highways, and truck stops. You won't have the time, or the vehicle, to take the scenic route.
OTR can be a good choice if you don't have a family, or don't care about the family you have. As someone with responsibilities at home, I would never consider it.

Please find the job & trucking company you will be working for BEFORE making a decision about CDL school.
