Nope... If how to make a right turn fizzled out at 1250, probably not going to happen here.

But hey, I'm game... I'll even team up on Scotties side if it would help crack 2,000.

    LOL

Looks like standard IC on e log, not going to make it to the Petro anyway. Just another reason e log promotes safety.

The 287 is your friend though. I used it all the time. Don't worry about guys like that, everyone's almost been killed on that highway. Guys like that get rung up by DPS or a local sooner or later.

Before I even get to the lane ending signs I am looking in the mirror and judging who will make it and who is going to be too close for comfort. Once I pick out the one that will be too close for comfort I make sure that I get over in that lane and close that door. I don't wait around for the fog line to push me over to the zipper. If I see that there is not enough room to get in front of that car I turn on my signal and back out of it. I wait and see if he finally finds the throttle or backs off too. If he does I am back on the throttle. What have I lost 10 seconds?

Scottie I know you are attempting to drive defensively but sometimes aggressive driving is defensive driving.

I had a 4 wheeler the other day in a legal passing zone, not a passing lane but a zone. I was able to see what was going on ahead of me and I saw the pickup crest the 2nd hill in front of us and this guy attempting to pass a little too close to the hill we were coming up to. I hit the hazards, beacons, laid on the horn and everything else I could think of because I knew he was not going to make it. I would have waved my arm at him but it hurt when I hit the window.. LOL

About that time the pickup crests the hill. Why did I not back out of it? Because of the distances I would have also been involved in the wreck had I done so because I could not have stopped fast enough at 110k gross. What ended up happening is the guy passing hit the ditch on the other side of the road to stop and clean his shorts. No one was hurt and it was not a butt scrunching close call, just too close to complete the pass. Long story short, everything turned out just fine and nobody got hurt or even really close. I guess you can call 2-3 seconds close if you want to. But it was no where near as close as your videos.

You are pulling a pup trailer compared to what I have pulled this year. Sometimes you have to do the right thing whether you are legally right or not. OJ was legally innocent yet a civil jury found him responsible for his ex wife's death. Just because you are legally correct does not mean that you have no blame for the situation.

I want to run local where you do then. Cause driving around the Tejano Superstars in my area, especially when they are 3 sheets in the wind, and yuppies in rodent cars, I have 1 to 2 " I can't believe I missed him's " a week.

No matter what you do, or say there are some that will say no matter what it was your fault.
If you was in the truck stop and a rig comes crashing in and runs over you while you're using the bathroom, someone will blame you for that accident.

When I made my comment I was contemplating the idea of a criminal defense lawyer for the Blue truck attempting to minimize their client's responsibility by passing blame to the other driver in lieu of a lighter sentence.

Civil trial? Yeah, flip a coin. The bar to establish burden of proof is much lower in a civil trial. It's like 'feels good' theater.

Oh my. I'm coming to the end of the passing lane. Buddy behind me is closing up and speedy looks like he might make an idiot move. Yep, looks like he's going to go for it. I know he can't make it in time. If nothing changes he'll be beside me when I run out of real estate and that oncoming truck could be there at the same time. Hmm, what to do? Oh yeah, my top gun trainer told me to maintain my speed and hug the fog line at all times. Speed 65, check. Fog line, check. Camera recording, check. I sure hope this turns out alright!

Are you driving that truck or just along for the ride?

LOL ... Don't care if you like Scottie or not... Don't care if you agree with him or not...

His videos spur good conversations about watching out for "those" drivers and safe driving in general.

I happen to fall in the "best way to avoid an accident is to not be there when it happens" crowd be it via Defensive Driving or Closing Doors approach... But I tend to learn something from "the discussion" of Scottie's videos.

Thank you to Scottie for prompting such discussion and to those responding.

    Stay Safe to all,
    MD
