I remember that 1 Yes they had really good food there.. Their pork tenderloins were some of the biggest I have ever had.. it covered the whole plate.. it was a nice place too
The mineral wells truck stop in Mineral wells West Virginia used to be a good stop. The Lee hi, whites and Davy Crockett were all good before they became T/A’s. Noble’s in tallapoosa. The Queen City in meridian, ms.
Love the catfish at Queen City! The old one at exit 144 off I-55 was good too before it burned down. J's Texaco, I believe it was called. Best sweet tea and biscuits!
Was that on the south side of the interstate? Small building with 3 or 4 fuel pumps and a small cafe?
Have they still got that single long table down the center in the driver only section? I haven't been there since the '80s, but it was always my stopping point when I ran Maine and New Brunswick, food and service was top notch. There used to be a little bar in the basement of the white house hotel next door too...
I don't remember exactly where it was on I-40 between Knoxville and eastern North Carolina, but Buckhorn had a truck stop with good food and ALWAYS gave me a free shower when I asked to buy a shower.
