This is me now!!!! A real o/o!!!

If you need hood mirrors, bumper guides, automatic transmissions, elogs, gps, traction control, stability control, lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, speed limiters, antilock brakes, and all of the other crap that "makes life easier" by removing the need for any actual skill in order to do this job without tearing stuff up in the process, well then have fun pretending. Just 'cuz you bought a hat & a pair of boots doesn't mean you can ride a bull...and just because the vehicle you're "driving" happens to have 18 wheels doesn't mean you can drive a truck. That's why it bugs me, because the more alleged "drivers" who NEED all of this crap in order to do the job without tearing stuff up are causing companies, states, and even the feds in some instances to REQUIRE these same BS items on ALL trucks. When folks quit trying to mandate that crap into my truck, I'll stop caring what they want to put on theirs. Works both ways, you see? Learn how to drive and none of that crap would be necessary.

 

As far as I know, non of those things that you mentioned are currently mandated by anyone. If someone wants mirrors on their hood or little sticks with lights on the top (which, by the way, I've never seen on a modern truck. Its only old schoolers I've ever seen with thoses) that's their business and it does not effect me an any way. Worry about your own truck and let people do what they want with theirs. I personally think it's dumb as hell to have shift knob up over your head and a stupid little lights everywhere on the side of a truck, but if it makes you happy then have at it.

It's been my experience that those who boast most about their ability are the ones that in reality could benefit most from an extra mirror or two.

Kind of reminds me of a spoiled nfl quarterback who would say practice was not needed for veterans while holding the record for most interceptions thrown.

 

Yeah,I always noticed that.No one ever said anything anywhere,so it just wasn't a big deal.Even in Rockford,and Jville's roving inspector there,never said anything.Doesn't matter anyway as I'm enjoying my retirement,and don't have to worry about Govt. or company trucking regulations anymore,anywhere.Be safe.
