Its your license, not theirs. Wait till you can get it fixed and than drive. Tell them to deal with it.

Send them a message that you are not moving the truck until it is legal. Send the message via QC if you have one.

Went through that same thing with a company I ran illegally with. Finally got tired of their blatant disregard for my health/safety and the LAW. I detailed the truck in their lot (it was clean enough to eat off the floor inside, I even scrubbed the carpet), left the key, the bottles of power steering fluid I kept having to buy for the massive pump leak that they would not fix, and split. They had the nerve to call me three months later wanting me to come back.

It's not worth the fines, potential jailtime, and accidents. Put your foot down. If they threaten your job, quit and find another.

 

yeah dont be foolish, of course they're going to tell you to run. what do they have to lose? i'd start looking for a better company to drive for. this one doesnt care about your license, lively hood or if you're safe out there.

It's amazing the similitaries i've seen between trukers and military life lol. Always CYA and do what you feel is best for YOU!

 

Don't you have any tools? Did you check your fuses? Check your pigtail. Also check the pins in the pigtail. At the very least pull into a shop and get it fixed. Just have the company reimburse you later. Also call your safety department. Then be prepared to switch dispatchers. Safety needs to be notified what your DM is doing to drivers. You shouldn't be put in that situation and you need to let someone else know about it.

 

If you have qualcomm, use that and do all communication on that. There is an actual copy then if it ever came up....

 

I would agree that you should do what you are capable of doing to get it fixed. Check the obvious stuff.

I will diagree with the statement of pull it to a shop and have it fixed and have the company reimburse you later. Tell the company your taking it to a shop and they can pay over the phone with a credit card or comcheck or something.
