Private property is exactly that. PRIVATE!

You don't pay the taxes on that property, you don't insure that property, and you don't pay the maintenance or upkeep on that property. Security told you to move. They probably got their marching orders from the property owner. Move yer darned truck!

Unless you are like some of those jerkoff hunters I have to throw off my PRIVATE land every deer season due to their belief that their hunting license overrules MY private property owner's rights to MY land

Ah guys just a little FYI, the access to the property has a lot to do with the idea of trespassing. If there is no gates or fence or even a chain, in many places it is considered public access and they can't tell you to leave.

Here's my thing. If they don't want you there, why would you WANT to be there?

Regardless if its publicly posted with signs, its their property. If they say they don't want you there, that should be good enough. More so, its not YOUR property. YOU don't get to say who can & cant do ANYTHING with that property.
To reiterate, its not your property. Why would you think you can tell the people who DO own the property that YOU can park there?

As for you "have been parking there for 4 years", that don't have anything to do with it.

Again, I don't know what the law is there (wherever you are) but I (& you should) know what common sense & a little respect is.

I remember a fellow company driver telling me how he parked in a strip mall parking lot when he was out of hours and told me if security or the police made him move that, since he was out of hours on his DOT clock, they would "have to call the U.S. Marshal" to make him move. LOL. I guess he never learned the concept of trespassing.

Nope, up here it goes like this, private property is owned, maintained, insured and paid taxes on by a private individual or company/corporation....They decide who, when & where they allow access to it....If you're told to leave by the owner, or the owner's designee, and don't, the owner has the right to file a written complaint with the police and you get arrested or issued an A/T for trespass, it's that simple....As far as unincorporated/undeveloped land, if it's not "legally" posted, you're not considered trespassing until the owner tells you that you are.... Then you gotta leave or face arrest....If the land is "legally" posted (most posted land isn't) and you trespass, the owner doesn't have to give you notice to leave, he/she can just have you arrested for trespass....

Probably the best move though is to just get written permission in advance from the owner or his designee, rather than deal with the nonsense later, just saying.....

My neighbors driveway isn't gated, fenced or even chained. Does that mean it's public access and I can park there?

So, can you do us a favor please? Give us your address so we can park on your private property and throw our trash all over your yard and crap in your bushes, cause you know, it's your fault for not providing a port-a-potty. I do like the idea of getting a couple of cars and parking you in. I mean it's not like they can tow the vehicles, and if you damage them It's wilful destruction of property as you chose to damage them....

Like a few others have said, why would you want to park there knowing that you are not wanted there. It's one thing to park and use the businesses at the strip mall. It's something totally different to park for your days off or overnight. Common sense says if the property owner or their representative in this case security ask you to leave then the right thing to do is gather up your toys and move. To hell with some city ordinance that may or may not give you the right to be there thru some loop hole.
