Docks like the guy posted indoors are an absolute nightmare because you can’t see inside the darker building on a sunny day.

Good job though OP. I know people who would take 15 min there.

LOL, ain't that the truth. :)
It's like there's no pressure, so the normal attentiveness just disappears. :)

I just don't understand why they make docks like this. It's such a pain in the ### for zero benefit. And it'll only work for one specific brand of one model of step deck or else it'll be the wrong height, or the wrong length, or something will change in the future and they'll have to tear it all down again.

Those docks are no fun. Drywall is loaded in the same way, except one backs into a building to be loaded.

It's almost impossible for the forklift to fall off the side of the trailer being loaded if the dock only has a small gap around the edge of the trailer. Not paying huge medical bills for the forklift driver, and then costs associated with defending a lawsuit from the injured employee later, is a pretty big benefit to the company that hired the architect to design their loading dock.

Same dock, different day… it kicked my ### today for seven pull ups before I got it all the way in.

I found looking down the passenger side of the trailer in the mirror gives you a truer picture of whether the trailer is parallel to the line or edge of the dock than using the driver side mirror/edge of trailer. If you look in the driver side mirror at the edge of the trailer and make it look parallel with the line on the ground or the edge of the dock you will NOT be parallel. You will be angled in the lane.

If you didn't hit anything, besides the dock plate - success!
    That's all that matters, bud.
