Had a couple of these new, brochures were from the 70's back when I bought them. These trucks were painted back then, not decaled. Rare to see a truck nowadays that isn't one color

White truck was spun off from when CF sold Freightliner. Volvo originally wanted to buy Freightliner from CF, but couldn't afford it, so Freightliner was sold to Dymler-Chrysler-Benz or what ever the heck they call them selves.
Volvo then entered into a partnership with GM and created the white GMC:

I wish more fleets would go to more flashy paint jobs, everything is so darn bland now a days:
I like this fleets paint job. We need more of this.Grubby, Oxbow, Blackshack46 and 2 others Thank this. -
maybe most people around here, but not in general. I still love a pete 389, but realistically speaking. I'd be much happier with the volvo with the added room and amenities. If i was doing something regional or home nightly or few nights a week then I wouldn't mind a nice decked out 389, but for OTR. Volvo Hands down.BoostedTeg and Mike2633 Thank this.

Volvo Autocar. Was replaced by the VHD in like 2002 I think. Very tough trucks. Galvanized steel cabs, huck bolted frames, cabs actually rode on coil springs rather than airbags (more durable). Cab was really wide. Could fit 2 people comfortably on the passenger side bench seat and it still had a foot or 2 of space between the seats. You could get them with Volvo engine, N14, Series 60 and I think even the 3406E was an option as well.Oxbow Thanks this.
