my dad had an astro when i was a kid. he hated that pos. called it an "GMC a_ _ hole".

 

And didn't Chevrolet badge the truck as a Titan?

Yup,and the conventional GMC was a General,and the conventional Chevy was a Bison. Same trucks,different grilles,badging,etc.

 

we had a General day cab. very utilitarian. and talk about a squared off hood.

 

They were like old macks. Great for running in and out of the field/job sites, but god id hate to run one long haul or even regional.
