I have an easier time scaling with my longer WB compared to a international SB axel I drove before. My steers were always heavy on that one. Also pulling a reefer means $$. No reason to pull general van loads if you are staying food grade. Food grade non refrigerated loads are often weighted for a reefer to pull as the customer wants their food hauled in a food grade trailer as they are most often a reefer. There is a reason open deck and Reefer guys have the money to take pride in the ride. I can scale 45 K with my flattop half fuels and no chains. Flat top is tight if your a big guy! I’m 5’7” 150 lbs so I feel right at home in a flat top.

There's a big difference between a sharp looking exhd and some back yard abortion with 5 gallons of paint throw at it to cover up the hack job

A 2021 Peterbilt 389 would have been around $175k. New Great Dane reefer today $115k

I know a guy that was quoted $195,000 for a new triaxle dane multi temp just a few weeks ago. Thats up $30,000 from October when I priced out same specs.
Also, no guarantee on the quote price until the trailer is built which could be 1 to 2 years from now.

    shooter19802003 and Coffey Thank this.

The price I was quoted in October was the "best guess " by the salesman because he couldn't even price anything out at that time. The price I was quoted was up about $20,000 from 2 years before.
