Listen between 28.000 and 28.300 on AM. The most popular frequency is 28.085 AM around here. Truckers seem to think this is the "truckers' channel". When 10 is running, the truckers are EASY to hear. When it's not, its still easy to find local bandits just jabbering away.

What State are you in? Today while out and about, I kept scanning those channels, and the next band up, but couldn't find "anybody", much less some Pirate CB'er...I was scanning the AM, FM, LSB, and USB, and nothing but static...Take that back, on a couple of channels I did hear a faint high pitched tone...

Another reason I don't think very many CB'ers will get on these channels, is unless they have a different antenna to switch to, most CB antenna's tuned for 11 Meters are not going to be broad banded enough to also pick up those channels, and be able to talk...My antenna is very broad-banded, and I checked the SWR while up on 28.015 and noticed it was fairly high...I could probably talk OK on that channel barefoot, but I wouldn't even think about keying up with my Box on!

We have a couple around the tri-county here that are on 28.275, without fail, every day. I mean morning, noon, and night.

May be we should find these guys and psk, mt63, or some other sound card mode. :biggrin_25523:Watch them change the freq. real quick. :biggrin_2559:

I have found them on the MARS freq also. Because MARS freq. run from 160 meters past 220 Mhz. I have fun with them. Because we can use voice and digital modes on the same FREQ. And have run a net on top of them with 20 watts digital or 200 watts SSB with a swr of 1.1 it is very hard for them to fight back.:biggrin_25522:
