What I don't understand is many Hams are policing the 11meter band. Why? I never read that it's their job anywhere. Even Reily tried to tell us that over & over. Also most drivers with Export radios never leave the 40 channels of 11meters. How does a transmission on 10/11 meters put people in danger on the aircraft band? Have these Export/10 meter radio users ever done anything to you? I really think that some people need to think before they stir the pot. As for any company selling anything. It still is not your concern. I for one do not care if any driver wants to run any radio. As long as they don't transmit on Ham bands illegally. 99% DO NOT. Now if all drivers were running Icom 7000's, 706's, Yaesu 857's, Kenwood TS 2000's and the likes. Along with screwdrivers like Tarheel & High Sierras. Then maybe I would be greatly concerned. You should be more concerned with the boys on the Super Bowl ( channel 6) with their many 1000's of watts. Now that kind of power can hurt all over. But you say nothing about that! I just think that's much to far. And many need to get a real life.

And yes I know both Reily & Laura. I am Ham. I'm a Amateur Extra, a VE as well. I've been into radio since the late 60's. How do we get more to become Hams? To see just how enjoyable the hobby can be? If every word is to attack. That's like saying all truckers are the 20/20 killer truck drivers that they had out back in the 80's.

I'm just asking that everyone just STOP! Stop all of the BASHING on both sides just because the next person is not what you want them to be. If they were it would really be a screwed up world. One of us sometimes is too many! And just because you don't like what dealers sell. Don't make you right. Just remember it's not your job. It's a problem of someone other than you!

Maybe you should ask Reiley why he never shut down any of the mobile "crank it up" contests. The locations are not secret. They put up websites and forums bragging about it and post pictures of it all. Some of those people put out so much RF, you can actually see the air being distorted around the antenna. I also wonder why he allowed the nonsense with the infamous moron K1MAN to go on so long. Lots of rules violations all over the place.

The case the Housefly has published here included detailed punishment of the outlaw...NOWHERE in this info does it say anything about thatr HAM operator LOSING HIS LICENSE!!! As a matter of fact, it clearly just "admonished" the violator and fined him 4G's. THIS MORON STILL HAS A HAM LICENSE EXTRA CLASS in good standing ...all he had to do was pay the fine!!! READ BEFORE YOU TYPE

    Where did this come from?????
The guy was turned in by a neighbor who was getting TV interference...the guy with the big radio WAS A HAM OPERATOR EXTRA CLASS!!!!!! He was not a cb'r at all...he was violating the CB BAND RULES...and apparently KNEW he was not going to lose his license for doing what he was doing...so he violated OUR CB BAND REPEATEDLY!
The lesson here is for you HAM OPS....DON'T be messin' around on OUR channels with your HI-POWERED equipment, or some trucker's wife who can't watch her soap just might call the FCC on YOU. GET IT ????????

There is no "Iceland Logistics" trucking company registered with authority in the US with the FMCSA. I just checked. I suspect that could be why he "couldn't be found" LOL

You brag about being a VE (volunteer examiner, gives ham license exams on behalf of the ARRL for the FCC) and being an extra class license holder. Its all about Part 97, rules and regulations right? Oh dear, I screwed up and called CQ a few cycles out of the general class section of the band, better have an O/O send me a warning blah blah blah... But then you say that what they do on 11 meters is not a problem and we should ignore it... Give me a break...

Fact is a HAM has every legal right to be on CB AS LONG as he is legal.
If he is not legal them he should KNOW better .......
I have been on CB for close to 50 years and a HAM for more than 45 I have a CB as well as a HAM radio in my car both are legal ....

Anyone licensed for any service has the right to be there.

It's name is Citizen Band radio. The truth is the CB band is OPEN to ALL Citizens of the USA. Not just truckers.
