i ride a bike, those streets are the last place i would ride, just seems dumb, streets and hwys are for motor vehicles, stick to the bike path. you cant argue my point if your dead.

Well, the last time i checked the word i originally used is not a bad word, and, is used regularly in describing certain types of music. So, no, in my opinion, i didn't do any skirting and my purpose was to get attention to this very important topic. And 2) This is too important NOT to post in two different places; OTR drivers who occasionally have to go into the city will likely not read the LTL/food forum.

Bad move to remove it from the experienced driver forum section.

Mike2633 and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

Originally cars had to yield to pedestrians. AAA was formed in part to lobby for the rules we have today. Hemmings had an article about it recently.

I was under the assumption it still is that way and the way I'm going to drive. I guess i figure it doesnt really matter if theyre supposed to yeild to you or vice versa, can you live knowing you ran somebody over, no matter how dumb they were? I hate it when people go for their morning job down the shoulder of rural roads at 6 in the morning and it's foggy, suddenly they're right there in front of you and scares the crap outta you once in a while.

Very sad. But i wouldn't ride a bicycle in heavy traffic. I even get nervous on these country roads where we live. I watched toooo many folks forget to look or make a mistake. Such as this case. Real and present danger on roadways.

Old news... Bicyclist was at fault... And tragically it cost her her own life. And this lady was an educated woman, a doctor. Just goes to show even the smartest people can make mistakes.

During those 16 seconds the driver may have been looking in his left mirror as he was about to swing wide for his right turn... it’s a tragic event but appears the dr should’ve seen the right signal light

This is tough because I'm a trucker and a cyclist so I want to defend both. The truth is I cant defend either one.

That cyclist was unfortunately way too trusting of vehicles, and that driver is a moron.
