It was a perfect storm:
1. Nervous driver lost in Boston.
2. Cyclist in dark clothing with no light on her bike in the shade at dawn. Driver enters a bright intersection with morning sunlight hitting him from the left and literally cannot see anything in the shady street behind him to his right.
This is why I always drive (cars and big trucks) with my lights on, no matter how well I can see. It's more about being seen. It's amazing to me how many people don't understand this concept. It's sad, but the bottom line is that it was just a very unfortunate accident.
This is why you be careful as heck in the city.......:
