So basically this proves that Americans are more concerned about looks than what’s practical. That certainly comes as no surprise to me. I think that goes into just about every aspect of the American Dream.

Nah. That just means when they were doing the testing and research on blinker colors everyone actually used them. That is why the accident rate was down.
Jmo but rear amber blinkys at night or in bad weather with no other lights on a vehicle make it look like you might be getting ready to be involved in a head on crash.
