    Great looking truck.

Did Fitz do the paint job in house or did you order it that way from the factory???

I like their trucks, but they are very bland. Knowing I can get a custom paint scheme done makes me rethink about it more now.

They sent it to Rush Peterbilt in Nashville to be painted. I contacted Rush with the scheme and color to be painted. We just added the cost into the loan.

Hearsay, but due to the volume of engines they need you are only getting a rebuilt and not a remanufactured engine.

This from local top notch machinist who refused to supply Fitz with Detroits unless he could make them his way, which is quality. So Fitz is sourcing somewhere else.

To the last post you are wrong. I to have a Fitzgerald glider you have a choice of a Detroit reman engine or a in house Fitzgerald engine no cost difference. Before you post some thing please get our facts right. Fitzgeralds took me for over a hour plant tour of both truck and engine departments. Only had my truck for 2 month get 6 mpg running 70 to 75 all the time in KY to MI in this cold and winter fuel not bad. Very strong motor going from a 565 ISX to the 12.7 was afraid of lost of torque but can say it a little weak but not enough to change my mind. Mine also used a gallon of oil at 7500 but this is all the miles I have on mine. Also it is a Columbia I wanted the cheapest and lightest truck I could buy with the best reliability for the money. 113000 out the door 13 spd no extras haul tanker 80000 one way empty back.

    Terryt,

I myself as well as a few others have a fitz glider and also had great experience down there. Youll find on this board most of the negative comments about gliders (Fitzgerald or any vendor) are always from someone who doesn't even own one. Those of us who do are happy, so I think that wears some unhappy drivers out. thank you for your post.

mine also used to need a gallon right before oil change time. Now at 200k miles its gone down to 1/2 gallon before oil changing time and that's with alot of idle time. so i'm not to worried seems to be going away.

I think a lot of negative comments about gliders are made by people who own or drive emission motor trucks and seem to think everybody else ought to have to put up with the same bs and costs they're dealing with. I still have my 6nz CAT and I'm gonna keep avoiding this new crap for years to come. And then you get some of these west coast runners who can't seem to understand that many of us dont run CA. My next truck might be a glider.

    terryt and BigJls1 Thank this.

Are you all trying to say truckers ##### about things that don't even concern them? I thought we were expected to complain about everything!

It is refreshing to see the good and bad posts with Fitzgerald Gliders. Thankyou for the thoughts of what concerns there are.

Do not understand why you would write something negatively about Fitzgerald from your home state when you should be proud of them. They provide jobs to many people in an area does not have any jobs of any kind. Fitzgeralds told me on an average day 10 to 15 people a day fill out applications for employment. After two months taillights Quit working broke ground wire from frame. Driver window quit working blown fuse do not know why it has been ok since then. These are the only things so far. As for the quality check before delivery I was not happy with because that all they talk about. #1 the driver seat would not air up (air line not hooked up) #2 headlights not aimed right the right side was down to ground left side up to the sky # 3 had no brakes none of the brakes slack adjusters where adjusted. I found all this out after signing papers they got a mechanic right on it but this stuff should have been done in the first place. So far this was the only bad part of my dealings with them. I give them a 9 out of 10 only because of delivery issues and would highly recommend to any one.

Just curious, can any random and qualified buyer go thru Fitzgeralds and purchase a Glider? And how/why are they exempt from FET?
