once again to the last post you have no idea what you are saying. When you order a truck from Fitzgerald's you have a choice of a reman Detroit engine or a in house Fitzgerald engine. If you haters want your own Harrison post then start one quit posting un true post. With the in house engine you have to go to Detroit engine shop only. With the Detroit reman you can go to Freightliner dealers or any Detroit engine shop. Harrison stating Fitzgerald is using cheap parts is very sad. Fitzgerald is above such dirt slinging because there product is equal and better because they use Pittsburgh Power Parts which are not junk.

Talk about inaccurate statements. I don't own a glider,.not buying a glider, and don't care one way or the other about them.
I have absolutely no connection with any dealer.
I spoke of FACTS that I saw myself at the Detroit shop last night. That motor was junk internally, with either cheap junk parts,.bad assembly, or both.
Funny though, I looked at Fitzgerald website, and all they say is 'rebuilt' and warranties through them, not Detroit. A Detroit reman motor would NOT be warrantied through them, but through Detroit dealers.
No mention of ANYTHING that mentions a reman motor from Detroit on their site. Weird huh?
They are using inferior parts, deal with it or move on.
Sounds like you have an affiliation with them to me, not that I give a toss. If the truth hurts, turn off the computer before you go over the top. Doesn't seem like you are too far away as it is.... -
Huh? Please clarify. -
Is it possible someone provided their own engine for Fitz to install? Maybe their overhaul job wasn't so great? I think it'd be great to get a rolling glider and put my current motor and trans in it. Probably save a pile of cash too. Could part this one out or sell to someone who wanted to put their own motor and trans in it, it's still a good truck. I've seen several Fitz trucks up close they look cleanly put together to me. I don't really have a horse in this race, just sayn...
cbholister Thanks this. -
Not sure where any of this bogus info is coming from. Fitz gliders still come with a Clarke built motor. And when u go to a freightliner dealer you never did get the warranty work covered by Detroit it was covered by Clarke. Even if it was the weekend and you payed out of pocket Clarke would remiburse you. True experience here, not hear say.

I do not care where you buy a truck or what brand. Stating Fitzgerald is not Detroit reman engine is wrong Clarke detroit is suppling motors or you can have a in house engine. It is your choice. People make so many statement about stuff they have no clue about and yes got mine from Fitzgerald and will never say any thing about Harrison because I know nothing about there trucks. Have a great day

But, Terry, I didn't state anything about who, where, or how Fitz is getting its engines. You have me confused with someone else. I could really give a rip about where anyone gets theirs. Mine came direct from the Detroit reman plant.

It was me that stated the FACT that the inside of the 12.7 that was put together by Fitzgerald's was built using junk parts. Plain and simple, say what you want. It was in the shop, tore down, with the tech and service writer telling me the deal.
I couldn't care less myself, I wont be buying a glider, so take it for what its worth, facts from an official Detroit shop in Iowa.

Why was fitz not doing the tear down?
Seems a bit odd that Fitzgerald wouldn't be tearing down their own engine. Iowa to crossville inst that far a tow bill would be less than $1000.
Also seems odd that not one guy with a fitz glider has ever posted on here a negative problem. Yet lots of folks know somebody that knows somebody that got screwed...interesting.crb Thanks this.
