Yes, while the truck is at Cummins then inquire about their Encore XT1 warranty. Your truck would qualify being less then 6 yrs or 600k miles. It’s $4500 for 2 yr 200k warranty. Being factory Cummins it’s legit vs a lot of smoke and mirrors 3rd party companies. I’ve had 2 overhauls done and totally paid for by that Encore warranty.

Thanks for all of your replies.
I will inquire about the Cummins XT1 warranty and look into the Diesel Force Comprehensive Maintenence system. -
tnevin225,
How much does it cost to have shop perform the Diesel Force Cleaning service at a shop ? -

I'm not saying the truck is a pos but keep in mind the pump and dump mentality of large fleets: ie extended drain intervals and as little grease as they can get away with and keep the warranty intact .
And they will dump it just before all the emissions maintenance comes due too. -
Check the engine hours on that truck. I find it odd the apu only has 2500 hours. Might have been idled a lot these newer engines don’t like idling messes with the def system. Then again they might have replaced the apu about a year and a half ago those thermokings are known to crap out after 5k hours if the driver doesn’t like sending them to get maintained.

it's a crapshoot depends on who ran it .
I know a guy that bought two trucks from black and chrome sales at TMC both 387 Pete's 2007 at the time and it was back in 2010..
spec the same way 13-speed 475 twin turbo cat assert engines with the little tiny 1350 torque I call them baby kitties not the high torque engines but just basically your company TMC stuff.
one truck cost him almost $6000 repairs in 6 months..
clutch worn-out didn't last long whoever ran the truck didn't take care of some of the stuff on the inside had electrical issues starter went out and some more stuff. AC died within the first month apparently TMC just did a quick cheap recharge..
the other one only a starter and that was it same amount of time.
flying very leery of buying an ex fleet truck it made I know out like a champ but all the other stuff that comes with it unless it comes from an owner operator I would never buy an ex fleet truck that's just me -
The price of the truck is great along with low hours on apu and they are fuel efficient automatics.
However 10% interest is high. Crazy high. I would put as much as I can on downpayment and forget the warranty.
Edit: I also buy pre emission trucks and the one truck that is a ‘13 I had deleted and it’s had zero repairs in a year.Last edited: Jul 26, 2019
