I would not work at Western Express. Poor equipment maintenance, low pay, poor management/dispatchers. They view drivers as disposable. WE seems to be a company for drivers with serious problems in their records. I never met 1 driver with experience and a clean record that chose to work at WE. IMO.

I heard there is a truck floating around of theirs that has a poop stain on the drivers seat.

In trucking, all companies are the same. The name on the door is the only thing that's different. You can make steady money at Western. You'll run a lot of miles, especially if you're in the flatbed division. I pulled flatbed for them years back, and it was fine. Like anywhere else I've worked pretty much. It was hard to get home at times, but they did keep me busy. Many people will tell you about Western based on what they've heard other guys say. Many of them have never worked for them. It's like I always say, every company has ambassadors and complainers. If you're thinking of working for them, dont let others sway your opinion. Your experience may be different. When I was working there, if you can get loads off on time and safely, you'll see big miles. If not, you'll struggle. That's just any company

Maybe you will even be lucky enough to be trained by @otterinthewater and you will have good time with his sense of humor.

Forced dispatch, no choice about if you dont want the load because of destination.
Get @otterinthewater over here as he is a trainer for them. I am biased against as I was burned by them when the market was imploding in 2008.

You just have a sense of humor and that's in short supply in most cases. Don't turn it around like a woman. It's a compliment.
