To quote hard drive 163 aka Mark Sherman aka Fine Tune radio shop...

Safety first out there on those highways and byways, you bunch of window lickers. Back to the bench and try to be nice to each other.

stwik, OLDSKOOLERnWV and Timin770 Thank this.

NIST traceable calibrations are a real thing. Now whether or not Fine Tune's equipment has received such a calibration in the last year is a different story, but if so then he would have certificates to prove it.

When a law is never enforced. Is it still a law? I think the only reason it is a written law is for the bone heads who wreck havoc and interfere. They needed something to be able to put a stop to that if they deemed it necessary. Otherwise, they couldn't care less what goes on in the CB band.

You hit the nail on the head with that post. Most of the law or rules are broken on a daily basis on the CB band. I've always heard the the FCC is understaffed and can't go after the lawbreakers. I'm not sure why that would be, since they can fine people up to $25,000 from what I've read in the past. If that's the case they could easily afford more help just by going after the big boys on channel 6 alone. I remember in the 70's the FCC couldn't even handle the paperwork of people sending them money for the cb license. It was $20, then they dropped it to $4 per license, then they said no license needed. If they couldn't keep up with people sending them money, why would they care about people talking over 5 minutes, or running power, or talking past 150 miles?

Exactly!!! They don't care if one CBer ties up the band for thousands. Doesn't affect them. The CB band is not on their radar unless you are interfering with an airport, emergency communications, or possibly a well connected politician's TV set. They can't handle anything else. They passed a law sometime back allowing the county officials to take action against nuisance CBers because they don't have the manpower or time to handle it. I've never heard of anybody getting more than a warning from their County officials. Besides, if what you are doing is causing you to be a problem to others, you need to knock it off. Be a good neighbor.

Yea, it is. Enforcement doesn't make a law a law.

Immigration law still exists but you don't see much enforcement of that anymore, do you?

    rabbiporkchop and Grumppy Thank this.
