Anyway the reason why I joined was to get a real time assessment of the OTR indusrty. Politics be ######, I lost my fulltime construction job 6 months ago. Had 3 part time jobs untill 2 weeks ago, and now I am down to 15 hrs a week at 1 job. My Govenor, Sonny Perdue of Georgia wants to stick us home owners with another tax bill to pay for all the "give aways" the state gives to those who do not give one SH&% about working themselves. I am in jeaporday of losing my car, cant pay my tax bill, insurance bill, food bill, utility bill on 15 HOURS a week!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin_25510:

But from what I see from the threads here your industry is being hit pretty bad too. SO heres my QUESTION " is it a bad time to try OTR? ")

It seems to have slowed down...but, "you can't strike out if you don't swing the bat"....just thoroughly INVESTIGATE a company before signing the dotted line.

If driving a Truck is something you really want to do then I would say go to a good school and get your driving career started. Even though freight is slow you would make more than what your 15 hours is paying you. Of course you won't be home much to make that money.

    Be prepared to make around 300.00 - 500.00 gross a week.Then minus your (road expence) 100.00....BIG MONEY:biggrin_25512:

You are better off working as a burger flipper and home every night, and playing on the computer in the ''truckers forum''...lmao

And if you chose, you can even have a BONG next to your keyboard and you will not be breaking( D.O.T. RULES):biggrin_25526:..

TRUCKING IN THE BEGINNING,THESE DAYS, HAS BECOME A SESS POOL FOR PEOPLE IN PURE ''DESPERATION''....IMO

This is very true. Don't get into the industry because you just want a paycheck. There is so much BS that you will have to put up with. You have to love trucking to stay in it.

Yeah, Trucking is a way of life. In my short 2 years, I cannot believe the scum Ive met. Along with the incredible stupidity. I wonder how so many of these people drive these things. Practically every truck stop I go to is littered with trash when there are trash bins all around. The smell of piss permeates the air, when their are bathrooms inside. But joe fat as# super trucker is to lazy to walk his fat smelly #### into the restroom or even take a shower. I love standing in line at a counter and some anxious 5'2 barrel with arms and legs and a six pack of mountain dew is having a panic attack because he's in s hurry. Gotta keep the wheels turnin or he aint earnin. Its obvious why the industry is the way it is. There are simply to many morons working in it.
