America's Three Mile Island energy plant, the site of the worst nuclear accident in US history, is preparing to reopen as Microsoft looks for ways to satisfy its growing energy needs. The tech giant said it had signed a 20-year deal to purchase power from the Pennsylvania plant, which would reopen in 2028 after improvements.

I'm of the opinion that many smaller nuclear generating station, rather than a few large plants, should be built all across the country.

But I'm glad for this, because demand for power is only going to grow substantially from here on out.

    HTR-PM - Wikipedia
The HTR-PM (Chinese: 球床模块式高温气冷堆核电站) is a Chinese small modular nuclear reactor. It is a high-temperature gas-cooled (HTGR) pebble-bed generation IV reactor evolved from the HTR-10 prototype. The technology is intended to replace coal-fired power plants in China's interior, in line with the country's … See more

Great. More nuclear waste for all! That stuff is deadly for 250,000 years after removal from the plant.

Palisades in Michigan should be back online by the end of next year. Two new reactors in GA.. Diablo in CA staying online..

Meanwhile the plant with the tallest hurdles suddenly wakes up the sleeping :)

Surprised that woke company didn’t just buy the whole state and fill it full of wind turbines.

You're forgetting about the fact that there are probably a dozen or more nuclear plants (I can think of four right off the top of my head) operating here in the United States every day without incident.

If the greenies were honest, Nuclear is the way to go. No duh there are nuclear accidents, it's part of the maturation of the technology. Getting scared of 3 mile island, Chernobyl, etc? Oh, I need a new tampon! It's the cleanest, safest power generation capability the world has now. But, but, batteries! Well tell your sacred mother Gaia we are raping the Earth to get that pie-in-the-ski unicorn dreams. Diesel all the way baby!
