I still say reopen Yucca Mountain and start filling it up. Who really cares what happens in 10-20 thousand years from now. If the earth even makes it a thousand years, i would be surprised. And start using small reactors to replace all of the remaining coal plants.

Seems to me the logical thing to do would be to standardize the design

so all the plants were identical

that would save billions in design and construction and training and be safer since the safety precautions would be the same at all the plants

TMI was bad but tell me again how many people died ?

8 people got killed in one bus vehicle accident in Mississippi last week .

was that more or less than the amount of people that died at TMI ?

And has anyone wanted to ban car or busses or interstate highways since 8 people got killed in an accident ?

no form of electrical generation is perfect

there’s pros and cons to every type
I think nuclear is safer than coal

    but the cost

    holy cow
I live in Georgia and we’ve been paying for that stupid nuke plant for decades and it ain’t finished yet

they’ve been building it for 25 years and spent like 7 BILLION dollars . When they proposed it they LIED and said it was gonna cost 800 million or something like that

other than the govt and everyone involved with nuclear plants being lying sacks of dog turds about the cost and construction time

long term , nuclear power is a good option .
