It’s ok to go over your hours every now and then, stuff happens to the best of us.
But if a driver is constantly going over their hours then there is a problem with that driver.

It's generally recommended that you wait 2-3 hours after you finish your meal before you lay down to go to bed. So, if you're trying to eat during your 10 hour break, you'll only have 6 hours left by the time you lay your head on the pillow. Then, if you want breakfast, you're only going to get 3 or 4 hours of sleep.

Or, you could stop and have a sit-down meal while avoiding the evening rush hour traffic...then run another 2-3 hours before shutting down for your break. Now, you get 6-8 hours of sleep and still have time for breakfast.

Trip planning has absolutely nothing to do with it...it's called trying to stay healthy, eat right, improve the quality of your sleep, and reduce your stress levels. Current HOS, when strictly enforced, promote an unhealthy lifestyle of snacking on junk food (can't stop that clock for a decent meal), pigging out at the buffet (because you haven't REALLY eaten all day), and then going straight to bed.

Yeah because we don't already have a #### ton of drivers already running 800 or even 1000 miles in a day as it is.

Wait now you silly ####s are whining you do not have time to eat.

Knock it the hell off. The last time you people had a brain fart whining you could not stop to pee ( which was a god #### lie) we got a stupid half hour break for no #### reason.

Begging to work more hours. Good grief you people just do not learn.

Oh come on. That's just as dumb as one of the anti elog doomsday group saying "haven't you elogers every hard of split sleeper break?"

I've been doing the split for years. Unload in the blazing sun, go load, secure and tarp again and stop for 2 to get a shower and clean clothes on before driving the rest of the day and then take 8 in the sleeper. Get up and do it all over again.

Stop reading that ata newsletter, those days have passed. 800 isn’t that hard to do Btw. You can cover some ground when your not licking windows at 62mph all day..
