I think this might be my problem, but I don't know it is located. I have 2010 prostar, cummins isx. My truck just died on me. It will idle, but when I put the throttle it dies.

CK. the fuel filter 1st before changing parts ck all codes the truck is sending out?
-
Fuel fitlers where just replaced less than 2000 miles ago, and they are tight now. Can't check codes stuck on I 95 in SC right now. I cannot even get a tow truck, all to busy dealing with wrecks.
-
why cant you check codes, the prostar can display codes in the dash, even without the fancy info display. turn the key on, press the cruise "on" and "resume" at the same time. It will display all codes in memory in the odometer display.
-
TPS should be under your foot pedal.
-
IF you have 1 fuel filter with the drain on bottom put a cup under it and drain fuel till it looks like fuel and see how much water is in bottom of cup, it only takes 1 bad fuel stop to make the truck stop running.
-
Thanks I will try the codes re out.
-
I did not know that about the cruise control and resume buttom. Codes were Spn 2791 fmi 13
3251. 15
3936. 15
5018. 18
3987. 5 -
A bad throttle position sensor will never make the engine quit. If it goes bad you will only have idle with a check engine light.
