Here's my expirance. Sometimes the throttle will get hung up. Sure is a pain trying to shift and your rpms won't fall below 1500. When this happens the engine brake does not work. The cruise will work. I can press in the clutch and it does NOT help. Engine still runs at whatever rpm it was at last. So is this a ecm issue or a throttle position sensor( accelerator position sensor).

you need to be able to read the position in parameters or live data.

My guess would be the throttle. I imagine you’ve tried stomping on it, in case it’s hanging up mechanically. Tried cleaning the roller, and made sure it’s not jamming. I had one quit working and drove it using the cruise. I suspected my current one was bad, causing sputtering, but it also sputters using cruise. So I know it’s good. Don’t know if you could try using cruise instead to diagnose yours. Might be impossible. I would try setting cruise when it’s stuck. Then try to increase or decrease speed using cruise. If it’s not stuck using cruise, I’d suspect the pedal. The pedal can be diagnosed using a volt meter. Checking for proper voltage range while depressing the pedal. My opinion is that it almost has to be the throttle pedal. Though usually they just quit working. Never heard of one sticking.

Of its floor board mounted throttle pedal... Take the pivot pin out and polish ot with emory cloth reassemble using plenty of silver anti seize. Also clean and oil roller while you have it appart. Had this happen on almost every floor mounted throttle I've ever been around. Takes like 30 mins max.

I agree with you 100% and have done this hundreds of times on fleet trucks. However my own truck, and knocking the pin out with a 28 Oz hammer being gentle. My pin didn't move, added some heat, and hit it. Breaking the side out of the pedal. 200 mile round trip for a new Williams control pedal all better. Of course it was on my truck. :D
