One of the guys I was hauling shacks with made a not-quite-half-circle shell on the end of a painter's extension pole. Put the strap in the shell, push it up to the roof, give it a little nudge and the strap (usually) popped out and rolled across the roof and down the other side. I just went up on the roof because I put a half-twist in the straps anyhow.

From those loads... no. Cargo blankets, duck tape and an old work glove protected tarp.

I do get a few holes.. repair them soon as I can.

    Time saving???

I would have at least three straps thrown in the time they're taking to load one on that gizmo.

I do it like this guy for the most part... Except he's using his shoulder to push the strap rather than using the strap and his arm as a fulcrum:

Done right there's very little effort and no strain on the body.

Do it like the guy that laughed in the video.... Not the guy he laughed at.

It's kind of like throwing a grenade. Keep keep your elbow straight, pivot at the shoulder, bend your knees and stand up as you throw.

    1. Roll straps up tight, buckle or chain on the outside
    2. Don't throw the chain or the buckle
    3. Never throw into the wind
    4. Hold chain or buckle in the left hand and throw with your right

Never throw metal over a load. You're gonna kill someone.

What planet you from? My chains are not plastic. With that though, I don't throw the hook end unless it is really windy and a tall load then I just whip the loose end up and over.
